William J. Tichey

William Joseph Tichey, aged 84, entered the final frontier on July 9, 2013 at St. Vincents Hospital after an brief illness.

He was born on the family dairy farm in Huntington, CT and lived his whole life in Fairfield County.

He is predeceased by his wife Mary E. Durk Tichey, his parents; Vincent Tichey and Agnes Kazo Tichey, and his brother; Vincent Tichey of Florida.

He passed away surrounded by his loving family and leaves behind his daughters, Frances M. Tichey and Mary Tichey-Staack, and her husband Charles W. Staack. He will be greatly missed by his sister Frances T. Barvenik, and his granddaughters Caterina Staack and Rory H. Staack. He also leaves behind many loving memories with his nieces, nephews and friends.

Bill” was an avid sport boat racer, motorcycle enthusiast, traveler, and he loved country line dancing. He served his country during the Korean War as a corporal in the United States Army. Before his retirement he had a long career with O. & G. Industries.

A private graveside service will be held on Friday morning, July 12, 2013 at 11am at Riverside Cemetery, 475 Howe Avenue, Shelton, CT.
