William M. Kochiss, 74, of Derby, beloved husband of Dolores “Lorie” Markus Kochiss, peacefully entered into eternal rest on August 13, 2011, at Bridgeport Hospital, with his loving family by his side.
Mr. Kochiss was born in Stratford on September 13, 1936, son of the late John and Pauline Kochiss. A longtime resident of Stratford, he retired and moved to Derby in 1985. He was employed as a District Manager for Associates Financial Corporation, home-based in Worcester, MA, until his retirement. Mr. Kochiss was a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. Bill was an active member of the St. Jude’s Church in Derby and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and playing golf. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Steelers.
In addition to his wife Lorie, he is survived by a daughter, Kimberly McMorrow and her husband Michael of Columbia, CT, a son, William M. Kochiss and his wife Lisa of Orange, four cherished grandchildren, Katie and Michael McMorrow of Columbia and Kevin and Jessica Kochiss of Orange, three sisters, Margaret Novak of FL, Mary Marshall of Trumbull, and Vera Lampart of Shelton, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, John, Joseph, Edward, and Andrew Kochiss.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 7:00 pm, a prayer service and celebration of Bill’s life will take place. His burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
