Yvette Butler

Yvette Butler, 87, of Derby, entered into eternal rest on Saturday morning, May 17, 2014, at Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank C. Butler.

Mrs. Butler was born in Waterville, ME on December 21, 1926, daughter of the late Fred and Laura Albert. A resident of Derby for most of her life, she was devoted to her family. Her biggest love was family get-togethers and she enjoyed camping trips, arts & crafts and crocheting, especially her famous grandma bunny blankets”.

She is survived by four loving sons, William Butler (Patricia) of Halifax, VT, David Butler (Mary) of Southbury, Bruce Butler (Victoria) of Orange, Brian Butler (Carrie) of Ansonia, three loving daughters, Carlene Sauer (Fred) of Pensacola, FL, Jolene Sheehy of Derby, Marlene Butler of Ansonia, a sister, Marie Cosgrove of ME, 19 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Darrin A. Butler, a granddaughter, Diane Sauer, brothers, Arthur, Roscoe and Lionel Albert and sisters, Connie Faroni, Bertha Corrigan, Cora Poulin, Annie LaMarre and Tina Gilbert. 

Visiting hours will be held on Monday May 19, 2014, from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 7:00 pm, a funeral service in celebration of Yvette’s life will take place with Pastor Lance Bane officiating. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 45 Ash Street, East Hartford, CT 06108 or through the funeral home.

The family sends a heart-felt thank you to daughter Jolene for her terrific job caring for mom these past years and to daughter in laws, Carrie and Vicki for their time and car rides to Yvette’s many doctor visits. The family also thanks Dr. Kathleen M. Chaisson, Dr. Joel Zaretsky and the staff and nurses at Griffin Hospital I.C.U. for their excellent care provided during Yvette’s illness.
