Ansonia Police Probing Hilltop Burglaries

Ansonia police are asking residents to be on the lookout after three burglaries in the city’s Hilltop area early Wednesday.

In a prepared statement, police said a burglar entered a home on Reservoir Drive but was frightened away by a resident. Police also reported an attempted burglary at another Reservoir Drive home, as well as a third burglary at a home on Pin Oak Lane.

The break-ins occurred between 3 and 5 a.m. Wednesday (Aug. 12), police said.

In each of the incidents the actor(s) gained access or attempted to gain access through first floor windows,” the prepared statement said. In two of the residences entry was gained but it appeared as if nothing was taken. In the third case entry was attempted but the interior windows were locked and no entry was gained.”

Police believe the burglaries are connected.

The only available info is a male suspect,” the statement said.

Cops asked anyone who might have information to call 203 – 735-1885.

Additionally, please make sure efforts are made to secure first floor or low access windows on all residences,” police said.
