Drug Possession Charges Lodged In Ansonia

An 18-year-old Ansonia woman was arrested after police found heroin and fentanyl during a motor vehicle stop.

In a prepared statement, Lt. Patrick Lynch said the woman, Ashley Tucker, was arrested about 6 p.m. Jan. 17.

Tucker was found to be in possession of a powdery substance which tested positive for heroin and fentanyl and a glass smoking pipe,” Lynch said.

Police charged Tucker with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was held on $1,000 bond and arraigned Jan. 18 at Superior Court in Derby, where she was released on a promise to appear in court.

Her next court date is Feb. 20.
