More Nighttime Burglaries Reported In Ansonia

There have been 10 burglaries or attempted burglaries in the Hilltop section of Ansonia since Aug. 6, police said Friday.

The crimes are happening in the overnight hours.

We are asking that all residents make efforts to secure their homes by locking all windows and doors at all times, more importantly in the overnight hours,” police said in a prepared statement.

The burglaries have been happening between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m.

The crimes have been reported on Reservoir Drive, Farrel Drive, Martin Terrace and Birchwood Drive.

According to police, the most recent crimes were on Aug. 19 on Farrel Drive and on Aug. 20 on Birchwood Drive.

People were home, inside the houses in both cases, police said, but no one was injured or approached by the suspect.”

Cops reported a spate of Hilltop burglaries last week as well.

Police don’t have much to go on.

Witnesses have reported a male suspect but no further description is available,” police said.
