FirstLight Hydro Generating Company (FirstLight) is announcing the closure and detour of traffic on Route 34 (Roosevelt Drive) in both directions at the Stevenson Dam, located at the Oxford/Monroe town line, from 6 a.m. on Saturday, June 25 until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, June 26.
The closure and traffic detour is necessary to perform maintenance work on the Stevenson Dam.
In an effort to minimize the impact to the public, most of the work will be done throughout the weekend.
Traffic will be detoured using Route 111, CT Route 110, and Bridge Street in the City of Shelton.
Long-distance traffic is advised to take Route 8 and Interstate 84 to avoid the Stevenson Dam.
