Shots Fired In Downtown Derby Saturday

Police are looking for the person who fired a gun into the air during a fist fight in the parking lot at RJ’s Cafe on Elizabeth Street.

The incident happened about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Derby police Lt. Justin Stanko said.

A fight that had started inside the bar spilled out into the parking lot. Someone fired multiple gun shots into the air,” Stanko said. The bullets did not hit anyone.

There were about 50 people in the parking lot and bar when the shots were fired. The people in the parking lot took off as police arrived. 

The suspects, and everyone in the parking lot, fled,” Stanko said.
