Copper Pipes Stolen From Oxford House

Police are seeking information on the theft of copper piping from a house for sale on Chestnut Tree Hill Road.

The home is vacant.

The thief broke into the home sometime between Aug. 31 and Sept. 9, according to a police report.

The report did not specify how much copper pipe was stolen. The report also didn’t specify how much it was worth.

Copper is often found in the plumbing of homes and has been a target for thieves who sell the scrap metal to dealers. There was also an attempted theft of copper from the former Housatonic Wire Co. factory in Seymour last week.
