“It’s the best fireworks show in the state of Connecticut!”
Those were the words Thursday afternoon of Derby Mayor Anthony Staffieri, a few hours before the (approximate) 25-minute Derby-Shelton fireworks display kicked off.
Both sides of the Housatonic were packed Thursday night to check out the show and, yes, I’ll say it — start the Fourth of July Weekend with a bang.
Luckily, the rain held off until the end.
