The City of Ansonia has a brand spanking new Web site, that is both easy to navigate and full of information that was not previously available.
Until recently, Ansonia’s official Web site was poorly structured, making available information tough to find.
Thanks to City Hall employees Eileen Krugel and Rich Bshara, the site now has a side bar menu allowing the user to surf easily through minutes and agendas, city department pages and the much improved calendar.
“Web sites have changed,” said Krugel. “They have become more user friendly, and that is what we wanted with our site.”
Krugel said that although the old site was useful when it first came out, it has become outdated over time. The new site is composed of well organized links that when clicked, direct the user to a new page.
New features also include a search tool that searches the entire City of Ansonia Web site for information, and residents can even sign up for a mailing list from the site’s home page.
The city’s Web site was also designed to save residents a trip to town hall for documents, schedules and other miscillaneous information.
Forms from every department can be downloaded as a PDF file.
Holiday trash schedules will even be available online, and residents can pay their taxes using the “Pay your taxes online“ feature.
“We improved the site immensely. Just about anything anything you’re looking for is up there now,” said Mayor James Della Volpe.
Residents are encouraged to submit their photos of public events in Ansonia to keep the photo gallery on the site fresh.
“The plan is to grow on a constant basis,” said Krugel. “The site is a work in progress now, and will stay a work in progress.”
