The school district’s $29.1 million spending plan for 2010-2011 heads to voters for the fourth time today.
Voting is taking place at the Seymour Community Center at 20 Pine St. from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The latest version of the budget is the same dollar amount voters rejected May 25.
The school board is able to present the budget without layoffs, thanks to some teacher resignations and retirements.
The spending plan represents a zero-percent increase in school spending. State law prevents funding to dip below that current budget level.
It includes furlough days for administrators as a way to save money.
First Selectman Paul Roy sent out a press release Wednesday urging residents to approve the budget.
The budget sustains important school programs and is beneficial to students, Roy’s statement said.
Hopefully, the parents will actually come out and vote this time so that this can pass.
Otherwise, the BoF will simply put it up again and again and again until they do, and the law will go into effect which assumes this budget as the official budget anyway.

I’m sure you would like that to happen. And I’m sure that’s why the BOE did nothing to change the face value of this budget so that it could stall this vote into submission. Well even if it is just for principal sake , VOTE NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! anyway. Lets make some TEA.
