SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from April 14, 2025 through April 20, 2025.
It is a partial list of calls, curated by The Valley Indy. The goal is to give the public a head’s up on what’s happening in the community.

Seymour police received 329 calls for service and made five arrests between April 14, 2025 and April 20, 2025.
Monday, April 14, 2025
7 a.m. A Brookfield Road resident reported that a number of power tools were stolen from a truck in his driveway during the overnight hours.
10:09 a.m. Police received a report of vandalism of an outdoor food pantry at Trinity Episcopal Church on Church Street.
8:18 p.m. A caller reported suspicious activity at the Seymour High School track on Botsford Road. Police found a few people there after hours and asked them to leave.

9:05 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a minor motor vehicle accident on Silvermine Road.
9:07 a.m. A MacConnie Court resident told police she was concerned about a white box truck parked at the end of the road. Police said the unmarked truck was a Modern Milkman truck making a delivery. Police advised the driver that the company’s name needed to be displayed on the vehicle.
10:54 a.m. Police received a walk-in complaint from a resident who said her son’s school lunch account was hacked and a large amount of money was taken out.
2:26 p.m. Police received a report about a tractor trailer truck that got stuck under the trestle on South Main Street.

3:21 a.m. Police conducted a routine safety check at Gary Park.
12:52 p.m. An employee from Stop and Shop on Franklin Street reported there was a hold-up at the store’s gas station. Police said a new Stop and Shop employee pressed the button by accident, not realizing it triggered the hold-up alarm.
6:19 p.m. A Paramount Drive resident reported that multiple vehicles were driving slowly down the street, looking at roofs and driveways. Police determined there were a number of salespeople in the area.
8:04 p.m. A French Street resident complained about a solicitor repeatedly coming to her door, after asking him several times to leave.
9:10 p.m. A caller reported there was an injured owl in the area of Fountain Lake and Great Hill Road but flew back into the woods prior to police arrival.

4:14 a.m. Police received reports of a dog without a description walking on Route 8 south in the area of the Tri-Town Plaza. Police and State Police Troop I were unable to locate the dog.
7:43 a.m. Police received a report about a tractor trailer truck that was stuck under the trestle on South Main Street.
1:19 p.m. A contractor working on the Route 67 Diner in Klarides Village told police a group of kids attempted to break into storage containers on the site. Police said nothing was stolen from the containers and advised that locks be put on them.
1:45 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Cedar Street. No injuries were reported.
4:51 p.m. A caller told police that someone in a silver/gold vehicle was parked in front of the Seymour Community Center, telling people to vote ‘no’ to the town and school budget, and was in violation of the 75-foot rule.
Friday, April 18, 2025
12:15 a.m. Police charged a 24-year-old Seymour man with disorderly conduct.
8:17 a.m. A caller reported there was a female slumped over inside a car at the Seybridge Plaza parking lot on New Haven Road/Route 67. Police said the driver was taking a nap prior to reporting to work and there were no further issues.
12:45 p.m. A caller reported that three youths were riding dirt bikes up and down Old Ansonia Road. Police were unable to locate the youths.
5:44 p.m. Ansonia Police requested assistance in locating underage youths who tried to purchase alcohol.
7:28 p.m. A Bungay Terrace resident complained about solicitors in the area. Police said the solicitors were from Modern Milkman and had permits and permission to be in town.

1:10 a.m. Police charged a 35-year-old Naugatuck man with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
9:47 a.m. Police received reports of a black dog roaming around the area of Roosevelt Drive and Squantuck Road.
2:26 p.m. A Birchwood Road resident told police every time he’s sitting outside his house, his neighbor walks by and gives him the finger.
3 p.m. Police charged a 49-year-old Seymour man with disorderly conduct.
6:07 p.m. Police charged a 39-year-old Waterbury man with use of a motor vehicle without permission and second-degree criminal trover (unauthorized use of someone’s property and causing damage to it).
9:54 p.m. A caller reported a black pit bull was roaming around the area of Cogwheel Lane and New Haven Road.
11:40 p.m. Police charged a 59-year-old Fairfield man with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
Sunday, April 20, 2025
1:37 a.m. Police received reports of someone in a dark colored sedan attempting to break into vehicles in the area of Bridle Path Lane and Stony Creek Lane. Police said the car fled the area prior to their arrival.
9:29 a.m. A Birchwood Road resident reported that his police commissioner badge and ID, his license, pistol permit and credit cards were stolen from his unlocked vehicle.
4:26 p.m. Police received a walk-in complaint from a resident who said a construction worker working on the Route 67 Diner in Klarides Village yelled at her son and stepson for riding bikes in the parking lot, causing one of them to fall off their bikes.
6:46 p.m. A High Street resident reported a case of fraud to police.
10:20 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a hit and run motor vehicle accident at the corner of French Street.
