Michael J. Fabozzi, Sr., age 73, of Seymour, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Born in Derby on August 4, 1951, he was a beloved son of the late Michael and Helen (Jonas) Fabozzi and a lifelong resident of the Valley.
Michael remembered his time at Shelton High School very fondly and was proud of his accomplishments on the football field where he earned two All State honorable mentions.
He built a 30-year career at Sikorsky Aircraft, retiring in 2013. Outside of work, he enjoyed bowling and was well known for his competitive spirit and love for the game.
Above all, Michael was a devout Christian whose faith guided him. He found great comfort and strength in his relationship with God and was a proud member of the Cornerstone Church in Oxford.
Michael was a devoted father to Cathleen (Fabozzi) Ehmer, Krystle Fabozzi, and Michael Fabozzi, Jr., and a cherished grandfather to ten grandchildren: Brianna Moran, Nathan Ehmer, Aaron Ehmer, Sophia Fabozzi, Aminah Donnelly, Liyana Donnelly, Khalilah Donnelly, Christian Fabozzi, Serenity Rich, and Anthony Rich Jr.
Michael is also survived by his brother, Richard Fabozzi; sisters, Donna Fabozzi, Carmella (Fabozzi) Puro, and Cindy (Fabozzi) Mahon; and many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Brian Fabozzi.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Cornerstone Church, 656 Oxford Road, Oxford, at 11 o’clock.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA ASPCA or the Dementia Society of America Dementia Society of America.
