Amy J. Austin, age 48, a resident of Ansonia since 2023, unexpectedly entered eternal rest on July 10, 2025, at her home. She was the loving wife of Peter T. Davis.
Born in Illinois on March 20, 1977, she was the daughter of the late Kevin and Elizabeth Blue Austin. Amy completed her undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and later went on to attain her Doctoral degree in Computational Quantum Chemistry from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT, where she was also the recipient of the prestigious Max Tishler Prize. She was employed as a high school chemistry teacher, a consultant for a fragrance company and later as a private tutor. Amy was an independent researcher, gaining information on topics that piqued her interests, and continuing to publish scientific papers. She was also a huge fan of Game of Thrones. She will be deeply missed.
In addition to her husband Peter, Amy leaves to cherish her memory, several aunts and uncles and her feline buddy Misty.
