DERBY — A Bridgeport police officer from Derby was fired from his law enforcement job on Tuesday (July 15), The Connecticut Post reported.

The former officer, Dani Soto, has four criminal cases pending in Derby and Bridgeport courts, according to the state judicial website. He has court dates of July 21 in Bridgeport and July 31 in Derby.

Soto was initially charged in July 2024 with 31 misdemeanors for allegedly harassing and stalking a former girlfriend. Click here for a previous story.

Soto volunteered in Derby, where he was the chairman of the housing authority and a former member of the city’s cultural commission.

Bridgeport police opened an internal affairs investigation into Soto after he got into trouble. His termination was the result of that investigation and an administrative hearing, The Connecticut Post reported.
