ANSONIA – One person was evaluated by Ansonia Rescue Medical Services (ARMS) for minor burn injuries after a house fire Sunday (Aug. 17).
A call reported an appliance fire at 15 Bartholomew Ave. around 12:18 p.m. The fire started on the stovetop and spread to nearby kitchen cabinets, according to Ansonia Fire Chief Jay Fainer.
Fainer said the fire had been extinguished by the time crews arrived. Firefighters remained on scene to ensure the fire was completely out. There was no visible damage on the outside of the house.
Fire crews from Derby also responded.
The 2,158-square-foot house on 15 Bartholomew Ave. is a single-family wood frame colonial style home, according to city land records. It was built in 1955.
