ANSONIA – Here are some highlights from the Ansonia Police Department’s calls for service from Aug. 25, 2025 through Sept. 1, 2025.

Ansonia police received 504 calls for service and made 12 arrests between Aug. 25, 2025 and Sept. 1, 2025.
Monday, Aug. 25, 2025
9:13 a.m. Police arrested a 37-year-old man from Madison Heights, Mich., and charged him with disorderly conduct, second-degree threatening, and third-degree criminal mischief.
10:21 a.m. Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident near the high school on Pulaski Highway.
12:25 p.m. Police arrested a 20-year-old Derby man on Platt Street and charged him with failure to appear in court.
1:57 p.m. A caller lodged an animal complaint on Highland Avenue.
8:16 p.m. During a traffic stop on Pershing Drive, police arrested a 35-year-old Stratford man and charged him with driving under the influence and failure to drive in the proper lane.
Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025
6:11 a.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop on Olson Drive.
10:44 a.m. Police received a report of illegal parking on North Cliff Street.
3:50 p.m. A caller reported a stolen license plate on Jewett Street.
6:28 p.m. Police received a call from North Main Street reporting an armed robbery.
9:08 p.m. While investigating the robbery report, police conducted a traffic stop on Sixth Street. During the stop, officers arrested three people, including a 45-year-old Ansonia man, a 31-year-old West Haven man, and a 17-year-old juvenile.
Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2025
6:48 a.m. A caller reported vandalism on Grove Street.
2:22 p.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Main Street.
4:18 p.m. Police were conducting radar enforcement along Highland and Prindle avenues.
5:17 p.m. While conducting radar enforcement on Main Street, police pulled over a 30-year-old woman and charged her with traveling unreasonably fast, driving under suspension, and failure to insure a motor vehicle.
6:33 p.m. Officers attempted to stop a motor vehicle on Main Street.
9:26 p.m. A caller reported suspicious activity on Cottage Avenue.
Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025
8:16 a.m. During a traffic stop on Franklin Street, police charged a 20-year-old man with traveling unreasonably fast and driving under suspension.
8:30 a.m. Police were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident near Jewett Street and Root Avenue.
11:27 a.m. Police carried out multiple search warrants, at undisclosed locations.
7:12 p.m. A caller on Spring Street lodged an animal complaint.
11:53 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop near Kingston Drive and Main Street.
Friday, Aug. 29, 2025
10:54 a.m. Police were called to Target for a report of shoplifting. Officers charged a 57-year-old Shelton woman with sixth-degree larceny.
11:56 a.m. A caller lodged a wildlife complaint on Riverside Drive.
1:41 p.m. Police were conducting radar enforcement near Columbia Street and Main Street.
3:16 p.m. A caller on Hull Street reported a case of impersonation.
5:52 p.m. Police arrested a 45-year-old New Haven woman, charging her with violating probation and four counts of failure to appear in court.
9:51 p.m. A caller reported illegal parking on North Spring Street.
Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025
2:04 a.m. Police arrested a 23-year-old Naugatuck man during a traffic stop on Main Street, charging him with driving under the influence and failure to display lights.
2:07 a.m. A caller reported drunkenness on Water Street.
11:26 a.m. Police arrested an 84-year-old man at his Root Avenue home and charged him with evading responsibility for injury/property damage.
1:08 p.m. A caller reported hazardous road conditions on Hotchkiss Terrace.
2:52 p.m. Officers were called to West Main Street for a reported motor vehicle accident. Police arrested a 35-year-old man and charged him with driving under the influence and failure to grant right of way.
8:11 p.m. A caller reported illegal parking on Garden Street.
11:54 p.m. Officers were called to Bassett Street after a reported motor vehicle accident. Police arrested a 27-year-old Shelton woman and charged her with driving under the influence, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to drive in the proper lane, and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025
3:53 a.m. Officers arrested a 30-year-old New Haven man on Mott Street after a reported motor vehicle accident. Police charged him with driving under the influence, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, driving without minimum insurance, failure to drive in the proper lane, and driving a vehicle in violation of his license class.
11:34 a.m. Police received a report of theft from a motor vehicle on Byron Avenue.
1:24 p.m. Officers were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident near Kingston Drive and Main Street.
8:42 p.m. Police responded to a juvenile matter on Grove Street.
Monday, Sept. 1, 2025
5:45 p.m. Police arrested a 58-year-old man on Main Street, charging him with possession of a controlled substance and failure to appear in court.
12:18 p.m. A caller on Wakelee Avenue reported theft from a motor vehicle.
2:04 p.m. Police received a report of a stolen motor vehicle from Main Street.
3:38 p.m. Police were conducting radar enforcement on Main Street.
6:04 p.m. Police arrested a 33-year-old man and charged him with second-degree strangulation, second-degree threatening, third-degree assault, disorderly conduct, and risk of injury to a child.
8:41 p.m. A caller lodged a feline complaint on Pershing Drive.
