SEYMOUR, CT. It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Henry B. Maciecki (Macheski), who was born at Griffin Hospital in 1930 and, ninety-five years later, passed peacefully in the very same place, surrounded by his family, on June 24, 2025.

As a young man, Henry graduated from Paier Art School and went on to build a successful career in commercial art. Beyond his profession, he was a true artist at heart, pouring his passion into painting, bird carving, and tying flies. His deep love of nature inspired much of his work and brought him joy throughout his life.

In addition to his art, Henry found happiness in reading, golf, fly fishing, boating with friends, and cheering for the UConn Huskies and Boston Red Sox. A lifelong resident of Clifton Street in Seymour, he lived there for 89 years before moving in with his daughter and son-in-law, also of Seymour.

Henry was predeceased by his parents, Stella (Kolinda) and Benjamin Maciecki, his son Mark, and his brother Stanley. He leaves behind his daughter Karen and son-in-law Bill, granddaughter Lauren, longtime companion Gail Wallace, and former wife Liz Dobas and her husband Dan.

Family and friends are invited to a mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 12, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Parish – St. Augustine’s Church, 35 Washington Ave., Seymour in celebration of Henry’s life. A luncheon to follow. In honor of Henry’s love for art and color, please set aside dark attire—he would want the day to be bright, joyful, and full of life. The Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour is entrusted with the arrangements. Please share a memory at www.hullfh.com
