Raymond A. French, age 90 of Beacon Falls and previously of Southbury, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 8, 2026 in Griffin Hospital surrounded by family. Raymond was the beloved husband of Esther (Diggs) French for 69 years. Together they built a life centered on family, friendship, and countless cherished memories.
He is survived by his loving wife, Esther French; his son, Paul French; and his daughters, Janet (Scott) Merenda and Joanne (Chuck) Glick. He also leaves behind his treasured grandchildren: Crystal (Matt) Perachio, Carrie (Kyle) Glick, Ryan (Jean Marie) Glick, Elizabeth (Amanda) Gelada-Glick, and Michele (Nik) Murowsky. Ray was also the proud great-grandfather of Anna and Jonathan Petruny, Logan and Kaitlyn Perachio, Emma and Aiden Murowsky, Violet and Kyle Jr., and a future great-granddaughter expected soon.
Raymond was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with family and friends. He was also a passionate golfer, bowler, and softball player throughout his life. Many of his happiest memories were made during camping trips throughout New England, and he and Esther especially treasured the many years they spent at their camp in Maine.
A proud veteran, Raymond served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. Following his military service, he remained active in his community as a member of the American Legion in Oxford and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
Raymond will be remembered for his love of family, his devotion to Esther, his strong work ethic, and the joy he found in gathering with those he loved. His kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 1pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St. Seymour, CT 06483. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 10am until the time of services in the funeral home. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
