Edward Joseph Craft, age 61 of New Britain, died July 14, 2026 following a sudden illness. Born in Derby, he was the son of the late William Edward Craft and Evelyn Joan Koplowski Craft.
Mr. Craft was raised in Shelton and was a 1983 graduate of Shelton High School where his artwork was selected for the class T-shirt. He attended Southern CT State University and worked as a machinist and inspector in the manufacturing industry.
Mr. Craft was a lifelong football enthusiast and a loyal fan of the Oakland Raiders. Creative by nature, he found great joy in medieval reenactments and festivals, where he embraced history with enthusiasm and authenticity. He also took great pride in being a home brewer where he blended artistry, patience and time-honored techniques into each batch of mead he created.
His imagination, artistry and unique passions made him truly one of a kind.
He is survived by brothers, Ronald D. (Joanne) Craft of Ansonia, William E. (Karen) Craft of Maryland, Gregory (Michelle) Craft of Seymour; Gary R. Craft of Naugatuck; a sister, Linda (Michael) Tabone of New Hampshire; 10 nieces and nephews as well as 5 great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth B. Craft.
