Virginia Arlene (Wahlquist) Dulin, age 85, of Shelton entered into rest on Tuesday, September 10, 2025 at her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Fairfield on September 30, 1939, she was the daughter of the late David and Elsie Jean (Gammie) Wahlquist, and a Shelton resident since 1978.

Virginia was predeceased by her devoted husband of 59 years, Edward Dulin, Sr., her partner in all things, with whom she created a home filled with love.

She worked at Sikorsky Aircraft for many years until her retirement, but her greatest and most cherished role was that of wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was a member of the St. Andrew Society, and enjoyed tracing her family’s genealogy, intent on keeping history alive for future generations. She was an avid reader, finishing novels she was gifted in short order. She was also an immensely talented seamstress. Most of all, Virginia cherished spending time with her family, especially her two granddaughters.

She was the beloved mother of Edward Dulin, Jr.; Susan Gancoss and her husband Robert; Paul Dulin; and David Dulin; and the loving grandmother of Krystyna Gancoss and her fiancé Michael Kleinberg and Ginelle Gancoss and her fiancé Austin Patenaude. She was the sister of David Wahlquist and his late wife Glee and Elwood Wahlquist and his wife Diane. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as her great-granddogs, Maverick, Luca, and Kona, all of whom she cared for deeply.

Though she is no longer with us, the lessons she taught and the devotion she showed will continue to guide and inspire her family for generations to come. Her family will remember her love, kindness, and strength, and she will be profoundly missed by all who had the blessing to know her.

Her funeral services will be private.

The Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby was entrusted with her arrangements.
