What: Seymour High School Sports Hall Of Fame annual induction banquet

SEYMOUR – The Seymour community will come together to celebrate Wildcat excellence when the Seymour High School Sports Hall Of Fame hosts its annual induction banquet on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 2:00pm at Oak Lane Country Club in Woodbridge.

This year’s ceremony highlights the deep pride Seymour takes in its athletes and coaches. Legendary football coach Paul Sponheimer and longtime volleyball coach Cathy Federowicz will be recognized for their induction into the Connecticut High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame, a testament to the town’s enduring sports tradition.

The Hall of Fame will also welcome six hometown standouts:

  • Tina Slie (Class of 1989)-Softball & Basketball
  • Michelle Swanchak (Class of 1993)- Basketball & Softball
  • Joseph Carrafiello (Class of 1995)- Basketball
  • Christina Cretella (Class of 2011)-Basketball & Volleyball
  • Ken Pereiras-Assistant Softball Coach (1990 – 2004) and Head Coach (2005 – 2024)

In addition, the late Anthony LoPresti will receive the Outstanding Contribution Award for his years of service as assistant coach, educator, and principal-another shining example of Seymour’s commitment to its young people.Tickets are $60.00 per person and include appetizers, a buffet dinner, and dessert.
