William J. Filakovsky, Jr., age 65, of Shelton peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday September 21, 2025 in his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Christine (Soltis) Filakovsky. He was born in Bridgeport on October 23, 1959 the son of the late William J. and Marie (Boos) Filakovsky. He was a Master Carpenter for the majority of his working career. He had a passion for music; he enjoyed playing his guitars, drums, the harmonica and enjoyed singing. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman who loved to take regular camping trips and taking rides in his beloved Mustang. Most of all he cherished spending time with his family and his best friend Henry Mazako.
He is the father of Amanda Filakovsky (Dennis Griffin), Lindsey Filakovsky (James Hazelip), Vanessa Frano (Gary Frano), Valerie Pennatto (Michael Wendland)„ loving grandfather of Colin, Jade and Harper Frano, Ava Pennatto, Brendon Palmieri, Jaylin Ribeiro, Adalind Filakovsky, Anthony, Autumn and Allorah Pennatto. He is also survived by his brothers Robert and Richard Filakovsky as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to greet the family on Wednesday October 1st from 1 PM to 2 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton. His funeral service will begin in the funeral home at 2 PM.
