Joy Louise Murcko (Esposito), 61, of Derby, Connecticut, passed away suddenly on October 5, 2025. Born on June 10, 1964, she was the beloved wife of Gary Murcko, her safe haven, confidant, and best friend, with whom she had just celebrated 36 years of marriage. Joy was the devoted mother of her daughter, Ariell Murcko, and her husband, Derrick Longo. She was the cherished daughter of the late Bonnie Esposito, as well as her father, Peter. She was a fierce protector and supporter of her loving brother, Andrew, and sister, Pamela.

Known for her generous heart, perseverance, and willingness to help, Joy found her greatest joy in family. She loved gardening, cooking holiday meals, and was famous for her homemade sauce. Her grandchildren — Lucas, Lively, Lacey, Layne, and Lorelei — adored their “Nana,” who filled their lives with love, snuggles, and treats. A mother figure to her nieces and nephews she leaves behind — William, Victoria, Bella, and Rosie — along with countless friends and loved ones. Joy is reunited in eternal peace with her mother, Bonnie.

Throughout the years, Joy also served as a foster parent, opening her heart and home to children in need. For the last decade, she has built a second family as a friend of Bill W. Her compassion and steady kindness touched many lives.

Friends are invited to greet Joy’s family on Friday October 10 from 4 PM to 6:30 PM in the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. Derby. Her funeral service will begin in the funeral home at 6:30 PM. Online condolences can be left for her family at www.adzimafh.com.
