Daryl Cordell Grant, age 44, of Ansonia passed away unexpectedly on Monday October 6, 2025, at Griffin Hospital. Daryl was born on October 18, 1980, to Audrey Grant and the late James Grant. Daryl was a cherished son, husband, brother and loving father of two children. He was also blessed with a loving stepfather, Timothy Washington, who helped raise him. Daryl met and married Mary Grant and together they built a life based on love and support. From a young age, Daryl had a passion for fixing things and really enjoyed working on cars. Daryl was a dedicated supervisor for Town Fair Tire, and known for his strong work ethic, mentorship of colleagues, and his big personality.
Daryl is survived by his wife Mary Grant and his children Cordell Grant of New Britain, Destiny Grant of Derby, Stepdaughter Alyssa Mendoza and grandson Giovanni Mendoza of New Britain, his mother, Audrey Grant of Hamden, stepfather, Timothy Washington of Ansonia, grandmother, Estelle Silva of Ansonia, Godparents, Edgar and Leona Thomas of Seymour, brothers Anthony Grant of Waterbury, Rodney Grant (Valreese) of Hamden, James Stevens (Alicia), and sister N’Akia Tapley (Shawn) of North Carolina. He is also survived by his nephew, Anthony Grant Jr., special cousin, William Spenser and several other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Daryl was preceded in death by his father James Grant and his maternal grandfather Victor Silva.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 10 am -12pm at SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street, Ansonia, CT. Funeral Services will take place at 12 pm.
