Donald R. Allen Sr., 75, of Ansonia, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025 at his home in Guilford VT. Born on March 25, 1950, in Fairfield, he was the son of the late Michael and Sue Allen.
Don proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He later enjoyed a long and dedicated career with the United States Postal Service, from which he retired in November 2015. Don was an active and proud member of the Ansonia Rod and Gun Club, where he spent many happy hours. As a passionate fly fisherman, he found great joy in the waters of the Deerfield River in Vermont.
For 52 years, Don shared a devoted and loving marriage with his wife, Pamela Ballerini Allen in Ansonia, CT. Together, they raised two sons, Donald R. Allen Jr. (Heather) of Orange, CT, and Michael F. Allen of Alpine, TX. He was a proud and cherished grandfather to Aprile, Ashlie, and Quinn. He is also survived by his brother, R. Scott Allen (Cheryl), and his sister, Jill Delet-Kanic (Russ). His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
