SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from Oct. 6, 2025 through Oct. 13, 2025.
It is a partial list of calls, curated by The Valley Indy. The goal is to give the public a head’s up on what’s happening in the community.
Note: generally, this publication does not post the names of people charged with misdemeanors; the names of victims; or numbered residential addresses. If we publish a suspect’s name, we track the case.
Seymour police received 211 calls for service and made three arrests between Oct. 6, 2025 and Oct. 13, 2025.
OCT. 6, 2025
1:07 a.m. Police charged a 24-year-old Naugatuck man with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
1:59 p.m. A school employee from Chatfield-LoPresti School told police a white vehicle has been repeatedly parking across the street from the school on Skokorat Street, in the LeClaire Oil parking lot, facing children during recess. A staff member said they believe the female driver was taking pictures of the children and was concerned. Police said they are investigating.
2:56 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a two-car motor vehicle accident at Derby Avenue and Broad Street. No injuries were reported.
5:48 p.m. Police issued an infraction to a driver on First Street.
8:40 p.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident where a car hit a deer on Roosevelt Drive.
OCT. 7, 2025
10:22 a.m. A caller told police there were hundreds of “small drug bags” at the bottom on Humphrey Street. Police said the bags were empty and possibly fell off the back of a garbage truck.
1:15 p.m. Police were called to assist with a medical emergency at Kerite.
1:54 p.m. Police issued an infraction to a driver at the intersection of Fox Drive and Mountain Road.
6:23 p.m. Police were sent to check on illegal dumping at Mountain and Cemetery roads, but found nothing.
7:44 p.m. A Stoddard Street resident reported a “loud bang” in the area. An officer checked the area and could not find the source of the noise.
OCT. 8, 2025
1:23 a.m. Police set up radar enforcement on Holbrook Road.
8:26 a.m. Police received multiple 911 calls about a motor vehicle accident on New Haven Road (Route 67).
9:44 a.m. A Pershing Avenue resident told police he is being harassed through text messages.
10:47 a.m. An employee from Newport Academy on Roosevelt Drive told police a female patient was “out of control” and employees were unable to control the patient. The patient was transported to the hospital.
2:10 p.m. A 911 caller told police a dark colored Toyota RAV 4 was driving erratically near West and Beecher streets. Police were unable to locate the driver.
7:11 p.m. A Sanford Street resident told police about an ongoing issue with a neighbor who is playing drums very loud. An officer said the drumming stopped upon his arrival.
OCT. 9, 2025
3:07 a.m. A Union Street resident complained to police about his neighbors arguing outside in the backyard.
10:24 a.m. Police issued an infraction to a driver on New Haven Road (Route 67).
1:04 p.m. Police were called to Humphrey Street for a report of a truck that had bottomed out at the intersection of Humphrey and South Main streets.
4:32 p.m. A Meadow Street resident reported that some money was missing and told police he thinks his dad took it.
6:38 p.m. Police received a complaint about people riding quads in the area of Gary Park.
OCT. 10, 2025
7:56 a.m. Police issued an infraction to a driver on South Main Street.
9:09 a.m. Police set up speed enforcement on Holbrook Road.
9:25 a.m. Police were called to Balance Rock apartments for a report of an untimely death.
11:52 a.m. A Canfield Road resident told police a man entered her backyard. The man was gone upon police arrival.
6:45 p.m. A resident told police he was concerned about a brown/black German Shepherd in a front yard on Smith Street and his ribs were showing. An officer advised the owner of the complaint and said the dog appeared slightly skinny but did not appear malnourished.
OCT. 11, 2025
12:53 a.m. Police were called to DeForest Street for a possible road rage incident.
3:16 a.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Hull Road.
9:23 a.m. Police found a pair of Apple air pods in the Seymour High School parking lot. Police said they will keep the air pods at the department for the owner to claim them.
3:15 p.m. A Fox Drive resident told police a man threatened to kill her dog after the dog ran to the edge of her yard and a runner fell over, yelling at the dog and the resident’s boyfriend.
5:27 p.m. A Cedar Street resident told police someone stole her landlord lease paperwork from her mailbox.
9:40 p.m. Police charged a 41-year-old Seymour man with operating an unregistered motor vehicle, improper use of marker plates/license/registration, illegally operating a motor vehicle without minimum insurance, illegally operating a motor vehicle under suspension, illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, use of drug paraphernalia and first-offense possession of a controlled substance.
OCT. 12, 2025
12:45 a.m. Police charged a 48-year-old Ansonia man with disorderly conduct.
8:59 a.m. Police were sent to Seymour High School for an alarm that was activated in a locker room. An officer checked the building and determined it was a false alarm.
12:38 p.m. Police were called about a small, white dog with no tags running around on Mountain Road. Police called animal control to assist.
2:57 p.m. A Moss Avenue resident told police someone crashed into the stone wall on her property.
8:30 p.m. An elderly resident told police someone contacted her and said she won money and needed to go to the bank to retrieve it. An officer gave the resident advice about an apparent scam call and advised her to keep an eye on her bank account.
10:43 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Maple Street, where a car crashed into a tree and a fire hydrant.
OCT. 13, 2025
2:11 a.m. Police conducted a safety check of Seymour Middle School on Mountain Roard.
3:54 a.m. Police received a 911 hang up call from Pearl Street and confirmed it was accidental.
4:24 a.m. Police were sent to the Silvermine Industrial Park for an alarm sounding at Thule. An officer said the building was secure.
7:50 a.m. A report was received about a downed wire on Skokorat Street.
