Marilyn J. Shaw, age 73, of Shelton, peacefully entered into rest in her home on Thursday, August 13, 2026. She was the devoted wife of 54 years and rejoins the late Bernard James Shaw. Marilyn was born in Bridgeport on August 19, 1952, daughter of the late Dominic and Bernice (Flathers) Mongillo. She grew up in Bridgeport before settling in Shelton in 1986.
Marilyn enjoyed a lifetime spent together with her husband on the water. Together they owned and operated the River’s End Marina in Shelton.
She is the beloved mother of David B. Shaw and Danielle Carrier and her husband, Norman Carrier, and the devoted grandmother of Hunter and Zachary Carrier. She is also survived by a brother, Robert Mongillo, three sisters, Carol McGovern, Elaine Kristie and Diane Cataudella and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph “Buddy” Mongillo and Nicholas Mongillo.
Friends may greet the family at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Thursday, August 20th, 2026 from 10 AM to 11:30 AM. Her funeral service will begin in the parlor at 11:30 AM.
At the family’s request, memorial contributions are encouraged to Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale New Haven.
