Shelton police were sent to the parking lot of 862 Bridgeport Ave. at 1:30 a.m. Sept. 14 after receiving a report that a person was struck by a vehicle.

The victim, a juvenile, was treated and released from a hospital.

Officers responding to the scene said a number of vehicles that had taken over the parking lot took off as police and an ambulance arrived.

Berrios was charged using an arrest warrant. Police said the arrest was “in connection to the individual being struck.”

“Shelton Detectives with the assistance of Norwalk Police Department were able to locate the vehicle that struck the juvenile male in the parking lot,” according to the statement. “Follow up interviews with Berrios led to a warrant being issued for his arrest.”

Berrios is being charged as an adult. He posted a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 5.
