SEYMOUR – The two candidates running for First Selectwoman are scheduled to debate at Seymour Middle School 7 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 29).
The school is at 211 Mountain Road. The campaigns are working to see if the debate can be livestreamed. (Update: the debate will not be streamed live)
First Selectwoman Annmarie Drugonis, a Republican, is facing a challenge from Theresa Conroy, a Democrat currently serving on the Seymour Board of Selectpersons.
According to a press release from Conroy’s campaign, the debate will be hosted by the Seymour High School debate team. It will be moderated by Jack Betkoski, a former member of the state House of Representatives, District 105.
Topics are expected to include local economic growth, responsible budgeting, public safety, infrastructure improvements, and maintaining Seymour’s small-town character while planning for future growth.
The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
Election Day is Nov. 4.
