Robert C. (Bob, aka Pep) Lanoue, 84, went to be with his heavenly father on October 26, 2025 after a long illness.
He was born in North Adams, MA on December 15, 1940 to the late Chet and Margaret (Quinn) Lanoue.
He graduated from Drury High School in 1958 and joined the Air Force, having proudly served four years in Altus, OK.
He met his love and lifelong partner on a blind date during high school and while on leave from the Air Force married Virginia Presnal July 8, 1961.
After discharge from the service, Bob and Ginny settled in Ansonia where they raised their family of 3 children.
Bob retired from Connecticut Refining Co, Mercury Fuel and CBS Contractors after working in the HVAC business for 50 years. Yet he never retired from fixing anything for everyone. He was happiest when he was puttering. You could always count on him to help, even if it was just to give you advice.
He loved hunting, fishing, and target practicing, especially the “boys” yearly fishing trip to VT. He loved vacationing in Maine and walking the beach.
He was happiest when spending time with family. He was so proud of his children, especially his grandchildren.
He will always be affectionally known as the “Gravy Master” for his ability to make the best gravy at Thanksgiving.
Bob was a member of the Church of the Assumption
for over 60 years. After retirement, he looked forward to 8 a.m. mass and breakfast with Father Jeff.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia, children, Michelle (Bob) Malesky of Florida, Bryan (Sai) Lanoue, Melanie (Tim) Rice and the lights of his life Bryan Lanoue, Megan Rice (Josh Tessier) and Matthew Lanoue and 3 great grandchildren. Sisters Kathleen (George) Lambert, Geraldine Shead Palmer, Marilyn Gomeau (Kevin Hampstead) many nieces and nephews, friends and his favorite aunt Jeanette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Timothy (Martha) Lanoue, brothers-in-law Bob Gomeau, Larry Shead and Richard Palmer.
The family would like to thank the staff of Mulberry Gardens and Amberwoods of Farmington for their excellent care of our dad.

Bennett Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Funeral Services will be Friday, October 31, 2025 at Church of the Assumption 61 North Cliff St. Ansonia, CT.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption with an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery, with full military honors.
