DERBY – Republican Scott Derby’s campaign raised more money in October than Democrat incumbent Mayor Joseph DiMartino, but overall the mayor has raised double the amount of money than that of his opponent.

The latest campaign filings (covering October) handed in this week are the last before Tuesday’s election.

“Derby For Derby 2025” raised $6,100 in October, with $6,000 coming from the candidate himself and $100 coming from donor Barbara Dybas. A campaign representative previously told The Valley Indy Scott Derby opted to self-fund his mayoral run.

“DiMartino 25: A Leader You Can Trust” raised $4,393.01 in October.

In overall money raised, DiMartino clocks in at $23,923.61, while Derby clocks in at $11,445.

DiMartino’s campaign has spent $19,060.30, while Derby’s has spent $4,955.09

DiMartino’s campaign had $4,863.31 heading into Election Day (Tuesday, Nov. 4).

Derby’s campaign had $6,489.91 on hand.

The information comes from campaign finance disclosures that were due by Oct. 28. State law allows the public to see who’s funding political campaigns.

DiMartino’s largest donation in October, of $1,500, came from the Regional Council of Carpenters. It also reported six individual donations in the period between Oct. 1 and Oct. 26, including $500 from Peter DiMartino, of Florida, and $200 from Frank Cirino, of Seymour.

The campaign’s largest expenses in October included $6,825.80 to Success Print for two mailers, $3,385.55 to Valley Publishing for a mailer, and $750 to 101 Elizabeth St LLC for headquarters rent.

Scott Derby’s campaign reported two campaign expenses in October: $1,362.24 paid to Spectrum Marketing Companies for mailers and $40.30 paid to Anedot for credit card processing fees.

The Derby Democratic Town Committee raised $7,510.18 and spent $6,021.63. 

The Derby Republican Town Committee raised $8,219.41 and spent $2,669.41.

Election Day is Nov. 4.
