Louis Peter Bomba, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, entered into eternal rest on October 27, 2025, at home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Derby, CT, and was a lifelong resident of downtown Shelton.
Louis was predeceased by his father, Louis J. Bomba; his mother, Lucy J. (LaRosa) Bomba; and his greatest supporter and loving wife of 30 years, Linda J. (Thomas) Bomba.
He was a life honored member of the Knights of Columbus, Bernardo Council #1350, and also served with the Shelton Civil Defense during the 1960s.
Louis was the proud owner and operator of Lou’s Coffee Shop at the Federal Courthouse in Bridgeport, CT, where he worked for 41 years before retiring. Prior to that, he was employed at Bond Rubber Company in Derby and Shelton Appliance in downtown Shelton.
He was well known in the community for his daily walks through downtown with one of his beloved Fidelco guide dogs, Utile and Nike.
Louis is survived by his children Roy G. Martin, Jr., Gregory L. Bomba, Robert Bomba, and Natalie M. Bomba. He was a loving brother to his sisters Virginia Ljungquist, Lucille Verzi, and Delores Huesser.
He took great pride in his eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and will be dearly missed by his many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
On Thursday, friends may greet the family from 8:30 – 9:30 AM at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral
Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home at
9:30 AM for his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church.
