DERBY-SHELTON –  The Coldwell Banker offices in Orange and Woodbridge announced that its Agents will hold an EMERGENCY Holiday Food Drive at Shelton Walmart located at 465 Bridgeport Avenue on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

All donated non-perishable food items will benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry of the Valley.  It is located at 237 Roosevelt Drive in Derby.

At the “Stuff A Truck” event, Agents will accept non-perishable food donations to feed families in-need in the Valley area.

“All food items collected will go to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in Derby, who is dedicated to feeding our local families, including Veterans and the Homeless by providing nutritious food to those less fortunate – especially during the important Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday’s”, said John Izzo, Realtor with Coldwell Banker, organizer of the Stuff a Truck event, and a life-long Ansonia resident.

Annually, the Orange and Woodbridge Offices of Coldwell Banker select non-profit organizations to help support their mission of feeding those less fortunate during the holiday season.

“According to the 2025 Valley Community Index, an estimated 19 percent of Valley residents did not have enough money to buy food that they and their family needed in 2024,” said Remy Kocurek, Director of St. Vincent de Paul of the Valley. That number has surely risen in recent weeks.

“Year in and year out, our organization and a group of caring volunteers dedicate ourselves to providing families with nutritious food and clothing – some of the very basics that many of us take for granted – especially during the Holiday season,” Kocurek said.

With the increasing pressure and threat of more tariffs, cuts to federal food assistance programs, layoffs and an unpredictable economy, donations have dropped off quite a bit in recent years.

“This is why we are forever grateful to Walmart and the Coldwell Banker Agents and their amazing staffs in Orange and Woodbridge for volunteering their time, money and operations to support such important causes,” she said.

During the emergency food drive, volunteers and Agents will stuff pickup trucks and other decorated vehicles with non-perishable food items – many of which will be listed on a hand-out and provided to Walmart customers at the main entrance to the store to make it easier to donate at the Food Drive.

Many of those items will be on sale during the event, and while only non-perishable items are be collected at the emergency food drive, anyone wishing to make a monetary donation may do so by sending a check made payable to St. Vincent de Paul and mailing it to 237 Roosevelt Drive, Derby, CT 06418, or they can contribute at the event.“I know Valley residents will rise to the occasion to continue the important work and tradition of supporting families in-need, including our veterans and those less fortunate and will show up in large numbers to once again support this important holiday food drive on Saturday, November 15th, said Aileen DeFeo, Senior Vice President, Coldwell Banker Orange and Woodbridge offices.
