The holiday spirit returns to downtown Seymour with the 54th Annual Christmas Parade on Sunday, November 30 at 2:00 p.m. The parade will step off on Bridge Street, continue down Main Street onto Route 67, and conclude at French Memorial Park.
This year’s parade proudly honors Fred Stanek—and his late wife, Karen—as Grand Marshals. Together, the Staneks represent a lifetime of dedication to education, public service, and community.
Fred has devoted more than four decades to improving life in Seymour and the Valley. His record of service includes over 30 years on the Seymour Board of Education, terms on the Board of Selectpersons, and leadership roles with the Seymour High School Alumni Association and Bungay Elementary School Building Committee. He has also served with Griffin Health, the Griffin Hospital Development Fund, and the Valley Community Foundation.
Karen, a beloved Seymour educator for 35 years, was known for her passion for teaching and mentorship. She advised the school’s Mock Trial Club and served the community as a Seymour town selectman, earning deep respect for her kindness, integrity, and dedication.
