DERBY — “In the Spotlight” is a talk show hosted by Derby’s Mike Cannici.
Tonya Crowe and Jamie Crowe Martin have a bond as sisters and best friends that has been strong from the time they were young kids. Both of them have been the other’s biggest fan, always supporting each other through think and thin.
Tonya cemented her legacy in TV in the 1980s, when she was cast as Olivia Cunningham, oldest child of the scheming Abby Ewing on the long running drama, “Knots Landing.”
Tonya spend a decade on that iconic show, and it was her character’s drug addiction storyline that was a big turning point in the series, which in my opinion was the most important story in the history of that series. Tonya wasn’t just a cast member of “ Knots Landing,” she was part of the core group that made that series so successful.
Jamie did a few shows as a kid, but it was her passion for helping people that really stood out the most about her as a person. She is a dedicated nurse, who has devoted 25 years of her life for giving her patients the best possible care they can have.
Today, both sisters are working together as Tonya has returned to acting, with her biggest fan managing her career. Tonya and Jamie are everything that people should be, and are a credit to their parents and fans.
Tonight, both sit down with “In the Spotlight” and share memorable stories of so many great indelible memories that will last a lifetime.
