SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from Nov. 24, 2025 through Dec. 1, 2025.

Seymour police received 267 calls for service and made five arrests between Nov. 24, 2025 and Dec. 1, 2025.

NOV. 24, 2025

1 a.m. Police charged a 32-year-old Seymour man with risk of injury to a child, third-degree assault, second-degree threatening and first-degree strangulation/suffocation.

6:34 a.m. An Argonne Terrace resident told police that speaker equipment was stolen from his vehicle overnight.

8:33 a.m. Police conducted stop sign enforcement at Pearl and Pond streets.

2:56 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Mountain Road. No injuries were reported.

7:49 p.m. An employee from the Henny Penny gas station told police a driver was asleep at one of the gas pumps.  

8 p.m. Police charged a 42-year-old Plainville woman with use of drug paraphernalia.

NOV. 25, 2025

7:49 a.m. A resident told police a German shepherd wearing a bandana was roaming around the road. Police said they were able to locate the owner.

10:41 a.m. A Bissell Place resident told police his ex-wife came to his house and stole multiple items.

12:31 p.m. Police were called to a medical emergency on Elm Street to assist an elderly man who fell in his house.

1:11 p.m. A caller told police two men stole two, 30-packs of beer from Stop & Shop on Franklin Street and took off in a black sedan. Police said the vehicle was gone upon their arrival.

9:10 p.m. Police received a 911 hang-up call. The caller told police she accidentally dialed 911 while looking for her slippers under her bed.

NOV. 26, 2025  

5:50 a.m. Police were called to the Newport Healthcare facility on Roosevelt Drive for an alarm sounding in the dining room. Police said it was a false alarm and there were no issues.

5:51 a.m. A resident told police his tire was blown out from a pothole he struck from the ongoing construction on Bungay Road.  

10:24 p.m. Police charged a 69-year-old Seymour man with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence or alcohol/drugs.

11:43 a.m. Police conducted stop sign enforcement at Pearl and Pond streets.

8:48 p.m. A caller told police 10 people were fighting inside the McDonald’s restaurant on Bank Street, and the fight spilled out into the parking lot. An officer checked the scene and said nobody was fighting and all the parties left the area.

11:53 p.m. A New Street resident told police a bunch of guys were fighting in the street, and one man was being chased by the group. Police said the men were gone upon their arrival.

NOV. 27, 2025

2:06 p.m. Shelton police requested assistance from Seymour Police’s K9 unit to help locate a missing person.

7:51 p.m. Derby police contacted Seymour police about someone driving erratically on Roosevelt Drive.

10:57 p.m. A Highland Avenue resident told police someone stole $1,750 from her.

NOV. 28, 2025

2:08 a.m. A Walnut Street resident told police he heard someone yelling from inside an apartment. Police said a woman fell inside the apartment and EMS was notified.

11:53 a.m. Police set up radar on Colony Road for about 20 minutes. No motor stops were made.

2 p.m. A Bungay Court resident told police a postal worker parked in front of her house appeared out of sorts and she was concerned about him. An officer said the postal worker had the flu and advised him to conclude his shift.

5:42 p.m. Police assisted a driver on Great Hill Road with a disabled vehicle.  

NOV. 29, 2025

7:47 a.m. Police received a report of a gray Jeep driving erratically on Great Hill Road. Police said the vehicle was gone upon their arrival.

1:43 p.m. A Hillside Avenue resident told police there was a sick raccoon in the area. An officer reported the raccoon was dead.

3:32 p.m. An Edgehill Terrance resident told police a large tractor trailer truck was parked on the street and partially blocking his driveway. Police contacted the truck driver and asked him to move the truck.

6:17 p.m. Police issued a written warning to a driver on Briarwood Drive.

6:39 p.m. A Chamberlin Road resident told police two people were sneaking around his backyard. An officer checked the yard and said it was clear.

7:12 p.m. A Briarwood Drive resident told police he found a small dog. Police notified the animal control officer.

NOV. 30, 2025

1:21 a.m. Police charged a 38-year-old Seymour man with violation of a protective order.

11:40 a.m. Police were called for a medical emergency at a residence on Stoddard Street.

12:47 p.m. Police conducted stop sign enforcement at Pearl and Pond streets.

1:24 p.m. A caller told police a car alarm from a car parked behind Hot Tamales on New Haven Road (Route 67) had been going off for 24 hours.

1:50 p.m. A Maple Street resident told police someone was playing music very loudly

6:31 p.m. Police charged a 55-year-old Seymour man with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs and evading responsibility/causing physical injury.

7:04 p.m. A Sachem Road resident reported that his wallet was stolen.

DEC. 1, 2025

12:47 a.m. Police did a routine safety check of French Memorial Park.

12:49 a.m. Police issued a verbal warning to a driver on Route 8.

2:43 a.m. Police were called to a business on Main Street for an alarm sounding. Police said there were no signs of forced entry and said the area was clear.

3:08 a.m. Police did a routine safety check of Seymour High School on Botsford Road.
