John D. Karlok, age 89, peacefully entered eternal rest on December 5, 2025, at Riverglen House in Littleton, NH. He was the beloved husband of fifty years to the late Gloria (Lawrence) Karlok.

John was born in Derby, CT on May 19, 1936, son of the late John and Helen (Bednarik) Karlok. He grew up in Ansonia, CT and was a graduate of Ansonia High School, where he excelled on the gridiron. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the United States Navy. He was employed as an engineer at Hitchiner Manufacturing Co. in Wallingford, CT and later relocated to Brattleboro, VT and worked in their Milford, NH location, until his retirement. John had a passion for flyfishing and the solace of the outdoors. He also loved spending the winters in Florida with his wife Gloria.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and dedicated son, Christopher J. Karlok and his wife, Tracie of Stewartstown, NH, a caring sister, Maryann Wilkitis of Seymour, grandchildren, Halley Marie Karlok, Dylan Karlok, and Kevin Karlok, in laws, Gerald Lawrence (Cynthia), Joyce Morello, Jean Sember and Dolly Eberle, several nieces and nephews, especially, David Wilkitis and Wendy A. Chiappetta. He was predeceased by a son, Daniel J. Karlok and brothers-in-law, Walter Wilkitis, Ronald Lawrence, Ronald Morello, John “Jack” Sember and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Lawrence.  

Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Tuesday December 16, 2025, at 10:00 AM (Directly) at the Church of the Assumption, 61 North Cliff Street in Ansonia, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment with United States Navy military honors will immediately follow in Mount Saint Peter Mausoleum in Derby.
