John B. Konecny, age 80, of Shelton, peacefully entered into rest at CT Hospice in Branford on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, with his family by his side. He is the beloved husband of 57 years of Patricia Konecny. John was born in Bridgeport on June 7, 1945, son of the late John and Anna (Lukac) Konecny, and lived in Shelton for over 50 years.
He worked in several fields, including carpentry and accounting, and he retired as a project manager. He was a longtime member of the Jaycees. John loved golf and was a skilled woodworker. He was a huge TV watcher, enjoyed reading, and was an avid UConn fan. Most of all he was devoted to his wife and family.
He is the beloved father of Douglas Konecny, Michael and Lori Konecny, and Kevin Konecny, and proud grandfather of Oliva and Ethan Bates, Jack and Stella Konecny, and Zack and Zoey Albin. He also leaves an extended family of special cousins, nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by a daughter, Melissa Albin, and three siblings, Raymond and Thomas Konecny and Frances Tschanz.
The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Friends are invited to a Memorial Mass on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 11 AM at St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave., Shelton.
