Cecilia Wojciechowski, age 100, peacefully entered eternal rest on December 12, 2025, at Connecticut Baptist Home in Meriden. She was the beloved wife of the late Benjamin P. Wojciechowski.
Cecilia was born at home in Ansonia on August 1, 1925, daughter of the late Stanley and Anna Gulomb Burch. She was a lifelong resident of Ansonia and graduated from Ansonia High School. She began her working career as a hairdresser in New Haven at the former Edward’s Salon and later was employed at the former Sears, Roebuck and Company in Ansonia and then in Orange in the Auditing Department. Cecilia was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Ansonia and a member of its Women’s Guild. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and the Ansonia Senior Center where she sang in the chorus. Weekly card games with her “special card group” friends gave her much joy.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Joan Iaccarino of Wallingford, grandchildren, Matthew Iaccarino (Cristina), Paul Wojciechowski Jr. (Amanda Rincon), Melissa Lawruszko (Joseph), and Anna Hustek, great-grandchildren, Zachary Lawruszko, Ava Lawruszko, Elizabeth Hustek, Peter Hustek III, Lia Iaccarino, and Caleb Iaccarino, daughters in law, Kathleen Wojciechowski and Lida Wojciechowski, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sons, Thomas J. Wojciechowski and Paul Wojciechowski, son-in-law, Frank Iaccarino, brothers, Edward Burch, Leo Burch, and Chester Burch, and sisters, Anna Wojciechowski and Stella Burch.
Family and friends are invited to attend Cecilia’s funeral on Thursday, December 18, 2025, by meeting directly at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church, 32 Jewett Street in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will immediately follow in Mount Saint Peter’s Mausoleum in Derby. The SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia has been privileged with the arrangements.
