ANSONIA – DERBY – SEYMOUR – The median price of a single-family house sold in Seymour increased 12.5 percent from 2024 to 2025, according to a market report from Houlihan Lawrence.
The report, released Jan. 14, looks at single-family residential home sale data from Middlesex and New Haven counties.
The median price for a house sold in Seymour in 2024 was $400,000. In 2025, the median price increased to $450,000. There were 112 homes sold in Seymour in 2024, compared to 110 in 2025.
Houses in Seymour remained on the market for 30 days in 2024 and 29 days in 2025.
Median price refers to the dollar amount squarely in the middle of the list of sold homes.
Meanwhile, the average price refers to adding together all the house sales in Seymour and then dividing that total by the number of sales.
Using that formula, the average house sale in Seymour was $429,792 in 2024 and $451,761 in 2025, an increase of 5.1 percent.
Seymour houses sold for about $232 per square foot in 2024. They sold for about $252 per square foot in 2025.
In Ansonia, the median sale price was $370,000 in 2024 and $377,392 in 2025, according to the Houlihan Lawrence market report. That is an increase of 4.1 percent.
The number of houses sold in Ansonia fell 4.6 percent – from 108 in 2024 to 104 in 2025.
The average sale price in Ansonia was $366,023 in 2024 and $377,392 in 2025. That’s an increase of 3.1 percent.
Houses for sale in Ansonia were on the market for an average 23 days in 2024 and 26 days in 2025.
Ansonia houses sold for about $243 per square foot in 2024 and $257 per square foot in 2025.
In Derby, the number of houses sold between 2024 and 2025 dropped 9.2 percent, according to the market report.
There were 65 houses sold in Derby in 2024, compared to 59 houses sold in 2025.
The average sale price in Derby fell by 1.6 percent. The average price in Derby in 2024 was $384,693, while the average price in 2025 was $378,618.
The median price was $370,000 in 2024 and $372,000 in 2025, an increase of 0.5 percent.
Days on the market fell by 40 percent, from 32 days in 2024 to 19 days in 2025.
