Virginia A. (Montini) Cribbins, age 84, of Middletown, peacefully entered into rest on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Ginger was the devoted wife of 64 years to Craig Cribbins. Ginger was born in Derby on June 6, 1941, daughter of the late Peter and Agnes (Zaksewicz) Montini, and lived most of her life in Wallingford before settling in Middletown 10 years ago.
Ginger worked as a Secretary at Sikorsky Aircraft, then retired to raise her three daughters. For Ginger, family was her sole priority, and she loved being a mother. Over the years, she was a supporter of the Audubon Society, a member of the Garden Club, and volunteered countless hours at the Franciscan Life Center. One of her biggest joys was visiting the elderly in nursing homes with her cherished dog, Spencer.
Beloved mother of Jennifer Lattanzi and her husband Gregory, Karen Cribbins Wholey, and Suzanne Thorpe, and the cherished grandmother of Jakob Lattanzi, Maxwell Lattanzi, Matthew Thorpe, and Eryn Wholey, who called her “GG”. Ginger leaves two sisters, Joan Pagliaro and Marilyn D’Antona, and many nieces and nephews she adored. Ginger was predeceased by her brother, Peter Montini.
The Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Friends are invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian Burial directly at St. Mary Church, 212 Elizabeth Street, Derby, on Wednesday at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery in Derby.
