Jacqueline C. Lauriat, age 94, peacefully entered into rest on Friday, January 23, 2026, in Orange, CT. She was the devoted wife of 63 years to the late Thornton Lauriat. Jacqueline was born in Malden, MA on September 13, 1931, daughter of the late Arthur and Vesta (Jangraw) Corson, and lived with her husband in Shelton for most of her life.

She was a wonderfully creative woman and an accomplished artist who enjoyed working in watercolors. Jacqueline was devoted to raising and supporting her family. She served as a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader when her children were young. Once her children were grown, Jackie enrolled at Housatonic Community College and earned her associate’s degree in Fine Art. Jackie and her husband, Hank, were avid international travelers and lived in Singapore for several years. They also spent many years as members of the Shelton Land Trust.

She is the beloved mother of David T. Lauriat (Byrle Bombero), Philip A. Lauriat (Lilliane LeBel), Judith L. Cayer (Mario), Janet L. Kasle (Stephen) and Jennifer D. Lauriat, and the cherished grandmother to eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Jacqueline was predeceased by six siblings.

Friends may greet the family at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby on Friday from 5:00 to 7:30 PM. On Saturday, all are invited to a Memorial Service directly at the First United Methodist Church, 188 Rocky Rest Road, Shelton at 11 AM.
