The Blood Drive will take place at the Ansonia Armory located at 5 State Street in Ansonia, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., on February 16th, 2026.
“Donating blood can save a life. This is a great way to do something meaningful and is a small act that can have a major impact,” said Representative Rochelle. “I am proud to work alongside Senator Cabrera and Mayor Tyszka to bring this event to our community. Together we can make the difference between life and death for others.”
“Ansonia is a city that believes in coming together to help each other. Giving blood is a simple act that can make a big difference,” said Mayor Frank Tyszka. “As a ten-gallon donor myself, I ask everyone who is able to do so to donate and help our neighbors in the moments when they need it the most.”
With a severe blood and platelet shortage, the Red Cross is urging people to donate blood now. Every day, people of all ages across communities are in crucial need of blood. Donating blood can make the difference for accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, those battling cancer, sickle cell patients, and more.
