Loretta M. (Bernardini) Perssico, age 79, entered eternal rest on June 23, 2026, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She was the beloved wife of the late Vincent P. Perssico.

Born in Derby on August 11, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Donato and Mary (Amico) Bernardini. Loretta was raised in Ansonia and a graduate of Ansonia High School class of 1965. She later moved Seymour for many years then resided in Bethany for the last twenty-five years. Loretta was employed as a special education paraprofessional at the Seymour Board of Education for twenty-six years where she immensely loved working with her students. She enjoyed reading and watching crime series on television. Her pride and joy were her flower and vegetable gardens which she meticulously tended to daily. She was a devoted animal lover treating them with boundless compassion. Loretta was a fan of UCONN, the New York Giants and the New York Yankees.

Loretta leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Chantal M. Perssico of Bethany and Payton Jemec and her husband Charlie of Florida, brothers, Thomas Bernardini (Lynn) of Oxford and Eugene Bernardini of Florida, along with grandchildren, Haleigh, Mackenzie, Laney, Kenneth, Kayla and Casey Jones.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 4:00-7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Thursday morning, July 2, 2026, her funeral will begin at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church (Our Lady of the Valley Parish) in Ansonia.
