Antonetta (Durante) Lavorgna, age 86, of Shelton peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday February 17, 2026 at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She was the beloved wife of the late Carmine Salvatore Lavorgna. She was born in Ruviano, Italy on May 25, 1939, the daughter of the late Raphael and Filomena (Campochiaro) Durante.

Mrs. Lavorgna worked as an assembler for the W E Bassett Co. for many years before her retirement. She was a proud member of the St. Mary’s Ladies Guild in Derby and cherished the opportunity to work the annual summer church festival. Above all else, she cherished spending time with her family.

Antonetta is survived by her daughter Annette Vasaturo (Michael), her son Lou Lavorgna (Tina), her grandchildren Michelle Seagull (Matt), Stefanie Langerman (Carl), Jaclyn Bryant (Jay), Jeremy Lavorgna (Rhi), David Lavorgna and Kaleigh Sprague (Merle), her great grandchildren Avery, Mia, Kai, Eli, Jalen, Hayden, Ryan, Sophie and Aubrey, her sisters Amelia DiVincenzo (Joe) and Anna Geloso, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Maria Grace Lavorgna, her great-grandson Adam Gregory Vasaturo Seagull, and her siblings Rosa Delloso, Maria DiSorbo, Lorenzo Durante and Pietro Durante.

Antonetta’s family would like to extend a special thank you to staff of Wesley Heights Assisted Living facility, her primary care physician Dr. Madhu Gowda, and the nursing staff that cared for her at Griffin Hospital.

Friends are invited to greet the family on Monday, February 23 from 5 PM to 7 PM in the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. Derby. Everyone is invited to go directly to St. Mary Church, 212 Elizabeth St., Derby, on Tuesday, February 24 for Antonetta’s Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Mt.
