Ansonia police received 279 calls for service and made five arrests.

Monday, Feb. 23, 2026

1:19 a.m. Police were called for a medical assist on Webb Terrace, after a carbon monoxide detector went off.

8:57 a.m. Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident near Beaver Street and Central Street.

11:34 a.m. A caller reported a low-hanging wire on Holbrook Street.

12:06 p.m. Police were called to Tomlinson Street after a caller reported neighbors blowing snow into the road.

3:40 p.m. A caller reported a vehicle getting stuck on Sixth Street.

3:58 p.m. Police were called as firefighters battled a truck fire on Wakelee Avenue.

4:50 p.m. Officers were called to Webster Drive after public works employees reported that a woman was shouting at their plows and not letting them pass.

Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026

8:51 a.m. Police received a report of a fallen utility wire on Benz Street.

3:53 p.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on West Main Street.

6:46 p.m. A caller dialed 911 but hung up.

8:26 p.m. Officers were called to Dwight Street for a report of disorderly conduct.

Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026

8:25 a.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Division Street.

11:38 a.m. Officers were called to Church Street after a public works employee reported a contractor was plowing snow into the road.

2:14 p.m. Police received a report of an abandoned motor vehicle on Belleview Terrace.

6:03 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop on Franklin Street.

6:17 p.m. Police charged a 53-year-old man with disorderly conduct on Parker Street.

Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026

2:17 a.m. Police charged Gabriel Ramirez, 42, with driving under the influence and failure to drive on the right near Lindgren Terrace and Prindle Avenue.

9:18 a.m. Police received a report of possible identity theft on Main Street. 

12:50 p.m. Officers responded to a juvenile matter on Elm Street.

9:27 p.m. Police responded to a report of disorderly conduct on East Main Street.

Friday, Feb. 27, 2026

2:49 p.m. Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Ford Street.

7:25 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop on Maple Street.

7:46 p.m. Ansonia police sent a K-9 unit to Roosevelt Drive in Seymour.

8:41 p.m. Police charged Giovanni Vazquez, 38,with first-degree stalking, second-degree threatening, first-degree trespassing, second-degree breach of peace, and violating a restraining order.

Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026

3:46 a.m. Police received a report of theft from a motor vehicle on West Main Street.

10:33 a.m. Officers received a wildlife complaint from North State Street.

4:43 p.m. A caller on North Main Street reported an incident of credit card fraud.

10:10 p.m. An officer conducted a traffic stop on Father Salemi Drive.

2:36 a.m. Ansonia police deployed a drone after state police reported a person got into a crash on Route 8 in Shelton, then fled the scene on foot.

1:08 p.m. Police charged a 33-year-old woman with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct on Church Street.

5:50 p.m. Police charged a 48-year-old man with third-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and risk of injury to a child.

9:06 p.m. Police charged a 53-year-old Bridgeport man with first-degree trespassing, disorderly conduct, and violating a protective order.
