Gerald Anthony Raucci, 75, a resident of Seymour, Connecticut, passed away on February 25th at Griffin Hospital.
Gerald was born on October 26th 1950 in New Haven, Connecticut the son of the late James Vincent Raucci and Josephine Wahala Raucci.
Gerald worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in the Westville neighborhood of New Haven for thirty-one years where he joyously delivered mail and stories.
Gerald is survived by his wife Elizabeth Fatek Raucci, daughter Elise Raucci Belknap, her husband Matthew Belknap, their children Zoe and Charles; son Daniel Raucci, his wife Magdalena Raucci, their children Nathaniel and Aniela; son Matthew Raucci, his wife Katherine O’Leary, and their children Genevieve and Eleanor; brother James Raucci, his wife Sharon Raucci; and brother Frank Raucci and his wife Lorraine Raucci; along with many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Gerald loved his family and found great joy in their company. He was an avid sports fan who made regular visits to Yankee Stadium and Madison Square Garden with his friends and family. He read voraciously and daily, he wrote poetry, created visual art, loved music, gardening, and sunlight.
A private ceremony and celebration of life will be held by his family this spring with a private burial.
