SEYMOUR – Here are some highlights from the Seymour Police Department’s calls for service from March 30, 2026 through April 5, 2026.

Seymour police received 226 calls for service and made four arrests between March 30, 2026 and April 5, 2026.

MARCH 30, 2026

1:37 p.m. A caller told police two white dogs were running down Derby Avenue toward Route 8. The animal control officer was notified and said both dogs were returned to their home on Derby Avenue.

1:53 p.m. Police were called to Seymour High School about an incident between two students where one student allegedly threatened another. The parents of the student allegedly threatened did not press charges, and requested the school handle the incident.  

5:45 p.m. Police charged a 19-year-old Seymour man with disorderly conduct.

8:40 p.m. A George Street resident told police she went for a walk and when she returned home, found a pair of disposable gloves in her yard. She told police she was concerned someone may have tried to break into her house. Police checked the property and found no signs of suspicious activity.

MARCH 31, 2026

12:01 a.m. An officer located a vehicle in the Klarides Village parking lot on Bank Street after hours, with the motor running and the driver asleep behind the wheel. Police said there were no signs of alcohol on the driver’s breath, and an investigation revealed the driver was tired.

9:08 a.m. Police assisted a driver with a disabled vehicle on Main Street.   

12:24 p.m. Police assisted a tractor-trailer truck driver who told police he was unsure whether his truck would fit under the bridge near Washington Avenue and North Main Street. The truck was able to fit under the bridge.  

6:12 p.m. A caller told police two juveniles were riding their bikes in the middle of the road near Bungay Road and West Church Street and was concerned for their safety. Police said the youths were gone upon on their arrival.

6:31 p.m. A Hill Street resident told police several youths were throwing glass out of their window and when he confronted them, they closed the window. Police made contact with the youths’ mother who was advised to tell them to stop throwing objects out of the window.

APRIL 1, 2026  

2:46 p.m. A Christina Lane resident told police he was concerned about a white SUV circling the area. Police said the vehicle was gone upon their arrival.

3:19 p.m. A Kathy Drive resident told police a black SUV was parked and blocking the roadway on part of Kathy Drive. Police said the vehicle was gone upon their arrival.

6:04 p.m. A caller told police a commercial vehicle was blocking the road near Elm and Pearl streets. Police said the vehicle was moved.

APRIL 2, 2026

7:56 a.m. Police were called to Stop & Shop on Franklin Street about an argument that occurred between an employee and a customer. The customer was angry that the credit card function on one of the check-out registers was down and the machine would only take cash for payment. The customer was told not to return to the store again and was escorted out by police.

9:15 a.m. A caller told police a sick or injured raccoon was twitching in the road near Haddad Road and Maple Street. Police said the animal was put down.

1:17 p.m. A School Street resident told police he allegedly saw a drug deal go down in a black Honda in the neighborhood. Police said the vehicle was gone upon their arrival.

1:47 p.m. A resident told police she is receiving harassing phone calls from her ex-husband.

2:53 p.m. A student told police the school bus driver pulled the bus over near West and New streets and refused to move. Police spoke with the driver who said students were attempting to open the emergency door on the bus.

3:41 p.m. A caller told police a goose was laying eggs on the bridge near Bank Street and Woodside Avenue and they were concerned. The animal control officer was notified.    

APRIL 3, 2026

8:19 a.m. A Lakeview Avenue resident told police a sick or injured raccoon was near his truck. Police were sent to dispatch the animal.

1:11 p.m. A resident reported that her Snap Chat account was hacked.

2:17 p.m. A Molsick Road resident told police youths were riding ATVs in the road and causing a lot of noise. Police spoke with the father of one of the youths and advised him that riding ATVs in the road is prohibited per town ordinance.

2:42 p.m. A caller told police a male was stumbling along Squantuck Road. An officer located the man and gave him a ride to his residence.

APRIL 4, 2026

9:56 a.m. A caller told police she was receiving threatening phone calls from her boyfriend’s ex-girlfriend.

12:11 p.m. A caller reported a dog was roaming around Nickelmine Drive. The animal control officer was notified.

3:20 p.m. A North Street told police she was concerned about a woman with purple hair sitting on her front lawn.

6:49 p.m. A caller told police he lost his wallet and whoever found it used his credit card.

8:31 p.m. The owner of Train Station Pizza on Main Street told police a customer refused to pay his bill and requested police assistance to remove the customer from the restaurant.

9:22 p.m. A Colony Road resident reported two suspicious vehicles were driving slowing along the road and requested police patrol the area. Police said the vehicles were gone upon their arrival.

APRIL 5, 2026

1:50 a.m. Police charged Zaszully Nesmith, 38, of Hartford with illegally operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, failure to drive in the proper lane, carrying a pistol without a permit and illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle. The crime allegedly happened on Route 8.

7:45 a.m. Police charged a 23-year-old Seymour woman with second-degree criminal mischief and second-degree breach of peace.

1:11 p.m. Police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Bungay Road. No injuries were reported.

5:51 p.m. Police were called to a residence on Rocky Glen Street for a medical emergency.
